Hi I am Elizabeth, and I am a Clinical Solution Focused Hypnotherapist. I trained and achieved my Diploma, with SFTA, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Academy at Trinity University. I am a member of APHP the association for professional hypnosis in psychotherapy. I am insured and have an enhanced DBS.
I have a therapy room about 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of York. There is parking close by, and the venue is accessible. My therapy room is a space for you to feel relaxed and at ease.
I also work remotely, and this is done by zoom. People who have hypnotherapy via zoom will feel just as relaxed and at ease as if sat in my therapy room with me. In fact, having hypnotherapy remotely is also an advantage as you don't have to leave your house and can just remain sitting in your own comfortable space.
I also offer walking hypnotherapy sessions in beautiful national surroundings in both York and Leeds.
Whatever you prefer, visiting me in my comfortable space or working with me remotely, please be guaranteed you will receive a warm welcome and the time will allow you to begin your new transformation.

I deliver bespoke group hypnotherapy sessions for corporate, charity and the local community. My sessions can be held both indoors and out. I also run group sessions at conferences and corporate events. If this is something you are interested in, please do get in touch.
I currently work with the business community, further and higher Education establishments and the charity sector offering one to one hypnotherapy and group sessions for staff, clients, and students. This can be done on your premises or remotely.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a modern, brain-based therapeutic approach that combines solution focused psychotherapy, current neuroscience research, and hypnosis to encourage positive change. It is important to note that results can vary from person to person, and commitment and a genuine desire to change are key to achieving successful outcomes.
Hypnosis is simply a state of deep relaxation and focused attention. You’re always in control, and you cannot be hypnotised against your will. Therapeutic hypnosis is a natural, calming process that helps your mind work in a more solution-focused way.
The number of sessions varies depending on the issue you're seeking help for. Many clients see good progress in 6–8 sessions. Some challenges may require more time, while others (such as smoking cessation) can often be addressed in just 1 or 2 sessions.
There are no lingering side effects from the session—most people just feel calm and relaxed afterwards.
A hypnosis session feels deeply calming. Each session is tailored to the individual where you can experience a peaceful, attentive state of mind. Results vary as each person is wonderfully unique.
Why did I become a solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapist?
I have also undertaken Solution Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy to control my phobia. I have witnessed first hand what a gentle but successful approach this is. Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy is a practical, empowering approach that can support you in making meaningful and lasting changes.
Before becoming a hypnotherapist, I spent many years working in the charity and higher education sectors, supporting individuals and groups. Through this work, I’ve learned that many people—myself included—often mask their emotions, which can lead to feelings of anxiety, low mood, and unfulfilled goals. We all deserve the space and confidence to invest in ourselves, and that’s something I’m passionate about helping others achieve.
